Play

INAKI IRIGOEN presents a series of recordings from the INTO protest covering proposed increases in class sizes. First we hear a round up of class size statistics from around Europe with Ireland having the second highest rate.

Parent Shane Kelly steps up to give an account of his child’s experience at school in Termonfeckin. He says his daughter’s teacher is dealing with two classes at the same time in the same room.

Lastly we hear from BRENDAN O SULLIVAN, the president of INTO who says he has two demands of the Minister Ruarí Quinn: First do not increase the class sizes in mainstream schools, and secondly reverse the increases already made.
