Malahide Sea Scouts “Sea Challenge” along the River Liffey 2013

Play

DAVE CLARKE of the Malahide Sea Scouts joins Noel McGuinness on the phone and explains some of the story behind the history of the Unit. In particular he is speaking to highlight a venture entitled the “Sea Challenge”, a fundraising endeavour which sees them travel 125km from the source of the River Liffey to the Liffey Estuary in Dublin Bay.

We hear that there will be a relay element to the challenge and they discuss the large age range of members involved with the Sea Scouts.

Dave carries on to thank the sponsors of the event and mentions how while the money raised will go towards upgrading the Scout den, a percentage of it will also go to Pieta House to support their work.
