Older and Bolder respond to “Home Help service” budget cuts

Play

John Healy speaks to DIARMUID O’SULLIVAN of Older and Bolder discussing the groups work with elderly people. They begin by talking about the recent cuts in home help funding and discuss the knock on effect of this.

They discuss the human element of what home help can achieve and how it hugely benefits those in the community. They further look at the campaign that they have devised to lobby the government for more funding for home help.

They read aloud some testimonial messages sent in from people outlining why home help is so vital for them. They discuss some statistics of what home help is available and detail a protest march they are going to hold outside the Dáil at Leinster House.
