Buy Wisely to Stop Food (and Money) Waste

Play

ODILE LEBELOCK of Stop Food Waste talks to Noel McGuinness about the many ways in which we can save food and resources by simply thinking about what we buy and when.

Big supermarkets are very keen to see us buy more than we need and encourage us to do so. Odile gives a few tips to help you keep your head when all about you are losing theirs and panic buying.

Remember, those big stores are never closed for more than 36 hours at a time in the whole year, so even at Christmas and Easter it’s really not necessary to stock up as if the third world war is about to start.

Check what you need before you go shopping. make a list based on what’s in your fridge and cupboards now. Do other stuff, like what you can see on the website stopfoodwaste.ie

Get on with it.
