2012: Another Year at Near – News Round-Up

Play

Near Media Co-Op is a not-for-profit community media project. The project consists of Near FM and Near TV and works in platforms as diverse as computer training, drama production, assisting unsigned musicians and educational programming.

Near FM broadcasts 24 hours a day over 365 days per year. We operate an open access policy and run at least two community radio courses a year for new volunteers. The station encourages groups to use community media as a tool in their development work and aims to reflect the issues, events and stories important in the local area. For our up to date broadcast schedule see http://nearfm.ie/schedule/

Near TV productions is the community television production arm of the Co-op. People who volunteer with Near TV make programmes which are shown online in the programmes section of this website and on DCTV (Virgin Media Channel 802) www.dctv.ie. Near TV also offers training to community groups in television production.

Here, DAVE O’CONNOR, Secretary of the Co-Op chats with Noel McGuinness, giving us round-up of the year’s news at Near.
