PHILIP CONNAUGHTON joins Noel McGuinness to talk about his work as a Dance Artist in Residence at Axis Centre in Ballymun.
He speaks about his piece”‘Mortuus est Philippus” or “The death of Philip” which is an upcoming production he has arranged. He joins Noel on the phone from The Botanic Gardens where he is working on his inspirations. Philip talks about being proud of being accepted for the opportunity to work as Dance artist in resident in the Axis.
Noel and Philip discuss the gender balance in the art of dance and possible reasons why there are fewer male dancers. He talks of working with local children and being inspired by their creativity. We hear of some of the artists who inspired Philip himself.
