NIAMH NI CHONCHUBHAIR talks to Noel McGuinness about the Festival of Irish Language taking place in Axis, Ballymun.
As part of Borradh Buan Irish Language Festival which will take place in Ballymun from 15-27 October 2012 Mouth on Fire Theatre Company will stage the world premiere of ‘Blogh’, the Irish language translation of ‘Rough for Theatre 1’ and the Irish premiere of ‘Rocabaí’, the Irish language translation of ‘Rockaby’ at the Axis theatre in Ballymun on Dublin, Friday 26th October 2012.
Audiences will also hear Beckett’s poems translated into the Irish language. The plays and poems have been translated by acclaimed author, poet and translator Gabriel Rosenstock.
Mother, father and son acting team Geraldine Plunkett, Peadar Lamb and Marcus Lamb will share the stage in production, along with actors Melissa Nolan and Jennifer Laverty. Poetry will be read by Gabriel Rosenstock and Nick Devlin.
