FRANCES KEOGH talks to Mark Finnegan about a new production ‘Mother You’ at the Dublin Fringe Festival 2015.
Set in a disused warehouse and fusing live performance, installation, video art and ritual, the audience are invited to be guests of this strained community; to collectively witness the action and to piece together fragments as the legacy unfolds. Spirit of the Fringe Winner 2013 (Way Back Home) returns with this epic, immersive adventure. The production tells the story of a prophetic township; where elders tailor-make the future, a leader leads badly, a gardener takes you on a journey, workers just keep working, and children carve their own way.
