AIDAN KELLY joins Noel McGuinness to speak about his art and photography. In particular he is discussing his work as a Photography mentor in Ballymun Axis Centre.
They discuss the idea of bringing “What people say” into works of art over a 12 week period working as a group of artists, to create something new, whilst recording the process as an online document. The result is a documentary work called “My Axis”.
Aidan speaks about the idea of seeing the world through a photographers eye and the beauty of getting paid to do a job that you love and enjoy. They discuss how Aidan crosses several genres with his work from documentary to film and so on. Aidan also talks about working with U2 and Rodrigo Gabriela. He talks about the importance of networking and how the possibility of work occurs.
They finish up by discussing how to gain the confidence of people in the public eye in order to create a space to capture natural photographs.
