Play

Ronnie O’Brien speaks to NAT O’CONNOR, Director of TASC (Thinktank for Action on Social Change) about their autumn conference. TASC are a research group looking at issues of equality, social policy and democracy in Ireland. TASC put forward evidence based policy recommendations for social change and democracy in Ireland. This discussion centres on government spending and tax income. TASC argues that Ireland needs to build up the tax system, to make it more progressive. They argue that tax breaks for the super rich is unfairly affecting the social welfare of the state. Nat flags an upcoming conference in Croke Park, the theme of which is 2012 inequality in income and wealth.
