IRENE GUNNING is the Chief Executive Officer of Early Childhood Ireland and has come on to NST to talk to Pat Meehan about National Pajama Day, which they are running on behalf of the Irish Hospice Foundation. The Children’s Hospice Foundation home-care programme offers support to families who are caring for terminally ill children. The funding from the national pajama day in 2012 will support a dedicated hospice support for these families. Irene makes an appeal to listeners to get involved with National Pajama Day. Irene also talks about the specialized training that is being provided for healthcare professionals to work within a child’s home and support the whole family.
