Flavia interviews several people from the Housing Emergency and Rights Conference that took place on Saturday 3rd October.

She firstly chats with JOHN BISSETT from Housing Action. He talks about the reasons for the conference to be called, the problems with housing from all over the country and how the conference was a working progress towards the need for change.

He also talks about what steps need to be taken in the future and how housing should be declared as a national emergency.

Flavia then talks to AISLING HENMAN from North Dublin Bay Housing Crisis Community. She talks about the objectives of the community, his personal experiences of being on rent allowance and the proposals from the community.

Flavia then talks to MICHAEL BYRNE, researcher from the National Institute for Regional and Spacial Analysis at Maynooth University. He talks about what NAMA does done with the housing, how it should be used and what more needs to be done to help the crisis.

Flavia then talks to DAVID GIDNEY who works with Mandate Trade Union and the Right to Change campaign. He talks about the campaign’s policies on housing, the government’s shortcomings with housing and other areas and the next steps for the campaign.
