Local entrepreneur TONY MONAHAN brings some samples of his company’s products in to be tested on air by Mark Finnegan.
The Radical Food Company offers a range of oat and yoghurt-based snacks – that are low in fat, high in protein, and very tasty, apparently – that has grown from Tony and his wife Miriam’s efforts to provide healthy, fun food for growing teenagers who understand that porridge is good for you, but still think it tastes like sludge.
Starting with their own children, demand grew from their friends, their friends parents, and then the friends of the parents and their friends until it all got so popular that a business had to be established to take production to a level that could meet demand. Dublin City Enterprise Board stepped in, and the couple are in business! However, it hasn’t all been plain sailing, as TONY tells Mark.
