BRIAN FLEMING, co-director of The Big Bang Festival of Rhythm joins Noel McGuinness on the phone to discuss the 2013 festival. Having started in 1994 they have ran it continuously since 2007.
Brian tells all about what is in store for this years festival including group drumming and a workshop with world famous Djembe drummer: Iosake on Foley Street.
There will be a children’s performance in the arc of Iberian percussion by Spanish group “Koytis”. Brian tells us how the festival is a labour of love, having began as a larger festival and now representing the work of Brian and Robbie Harris who create the festival as a means of bringing world famous practitioners to Dublin and creating a space to explore the Rhythms on show.
Brian carryies on by discussing how his knowledge has grown over the years producing the festival and how he has travelled on his own journey in the Knowledge of Rhythm.
