FERGAL SOMERVILLE speaks to Noel McGuinness about the Ice Swim challenge taking place in Lough Dan. They begin by discussing a swim that was cancelled in Dollymount due to it being more than 5 degrees celsius and so, too warm to class as Ice swimming. Instead they ventured to Lough Dan where it was a chilly 4 degrees celsius. They discuss the process of the Ice Swim, the help they had on the day and what the swim entailed.
They talk of the challenge itself, both mental and physical and outline the six swimmers involved. We hear of them wading through the ice that was sitting on top of the lake.
They follow on by talking about how the body reacts both during and after the swim.
