Noel McGuinness talks to NICKY KYLE about putting together a local festival called Totally Terrific Tomato Festival.

This is the first such festival in Dublin. With rising interest in new and exotic foods, the time seems right for such an event. Tomatoes are very good for you and are great at warding off cancer.

There is also a new breed of tomato on the market and it’s black! It’s black outside, but ruby red on the inside. It’s the blackness in the skin that makes it so healthy.

The event will have tomato competitions, including one for the ugliest. A farmers’ market will also be on site.
