National Family Dog Walk Funds Guide Dog Training

Play

Noel McGuinness talks to Dog Breeder for Irish Guide Dogs for the Blind, MARGUERITE O’BRIEN  about Irish Guide Dogs’ Annual Family Dog Walk.

The event is a nationwide fundraiser for the charity. Margueritte says she has just bred the first litter of six puppies that will all be undergoing training here in Ireland.

Guide dogs are, of course well-known and highly recognised as aids for the blind. However, over the past six years they have become increasingly recognised as aids for people with autism. They have a profound beneficial influence on the lives of these people and the programme is a great success.
